At Drapers’ Academy we use Pupil Premium Funding in various ways to meet the diverse needs of our pupils.
We recognise that many of our pupils join the Academy with low levels of numeracy and literacy, and personal and social and self-help skills. We aim to provide high quality support and interventions to teach and develop the key skills and attributes that are necessary for them to access the Curriculum and prepare them for life long learning.
The Academy employs Year Achievement Leaders, that are each supported by a non teaching Pastoral Manager, to support pupils and families in need, and work closely with partner agencies. This support aims to recognise and remove barriers to learning to enable pupils to make good progress in school and also acts as an attendance officer to maintain high levels of attendance and punctuality in school and target and reduce levels of persistent absence.
We aim to provide high quality support which is provided from trained Learning Support Assistants to work to narrow the gaps in attainment and progress between pupils, regardless of their background and prior experiences.
Pupil Premium reviews are carried out at the start of each academic year.
