Chinese New Year
Happy Chinese New Year to everyone from everyone at Drapers' Academy. Our big thanks go to the Great Wall Restaurant in Gidea Park for helping us to celebrate the start of the Year of the Rabbit by providing us with fortune cookies.
The Chinese believe that a person born in the year of the rabbit possesses one of the most fortunate of the twelve animal signs that make up the Chinese zodiac. The rabbit symbolises graciousness, good manners, sound counsel, kindness and sensitivity to beauty. This suggests that the year ahead will be more tranquil, that we may enjoy more peace, quiet and a congenial environment. A welcome change after the ferocious year of the tiger!
