Red Nose Challenge - Update

Staff and pupils at Drapers' Academy flexed their muscles in support of Red Nose Day this year as the Sports Faculty set up a challenge to cross the Himalayas. In a virtual way that is. Taking their inspiration from the Red Nose Day Great Desert Trek, pupils (and staff) were sponsored to step, row and skip there way the entire distance across the Himalayas. No mean feat since it is in fact 1491 miles in distance. This compares to only 874 miles from the top of Scotland to the bottom of England.

Thankfully the weather in the gym was unlike the
Himalyas and despite being located on the Hill -
altitude sickness was not a problem. Unlike the
Himalayas, which is the highest mountain system on
the planet and means "abode of snow.

Although they fell short of the total distance, covering
just under three quarters of the total distance, they
managed to beat their target of £250 and raised an
amazing £261.50. Well done to the Sports Faculty for
organising the event and all the pupils and staff who
took part, with a special mention to Charlotte
Glassman for raising the most in sponsorship.
