Pupils from year 8 with humanitities teacher, Mrs Little, had the opportunity to visit Bancroft's School in Woodford today to join them in a "Roman Day" as part of there history work. Pupils were given hands on experience of various elements of Roman culture, such as family life, entertainment and warfare. They dressed in togas, saw Roman make-up being applied, as well a competed against each other to hold a Roman shield up for the longest. They also learnt some Latin as they followed instructions in Latin to march like the Roman army!

All the pupils gained so much from this visit. After the Roman experience pupils stayed for a tour of Bancroft's School, which was founded by Drapers' Company in 1737, and enyoyed lunch with Bancroft's pupils.
