Sixth Form

As a newly built school designed for modern learning Drapers’ Academy Sixth Form (opening in September 2012) will offer exceptionally good facilities covering all areas of the curriculum, as well as extensive sports facilities. All the most popular subjects including the sciences, maths, English, geography, history, business studies, media, sociology and psychology are taught (see full course listing here). Close links with Queen Mary Univeristy (QMU) will offer unique academic opportunities as well as guaranteed prospects for further study at QMU.

We believe it is important to develop the ‘whole’ student, ensuring they leave us as responsible, committed and ambitious young people who are a credit to themselves, their families and their community (see enrichment for more details).

The covered ‘Street’ that runs the length of the Academy building will culminate in the Sixth Form area reflecting progression through school life. The Sixth Form area, whilst physically in the same building, is a dedicated area, with common room area and catering faciltities, as well as dedicated classrooms, and areas specifically designed for independent study and collaborative work.
