What AS and A Levels?
As (Advanced Subsidiary) and A (Advanced) level qualifications are exam based qualifications that focus on traditional study skills. AS Levels are graded from A-E. A Levels are graded from A* to E.
In Year 12 students will follow 4 AS Level courses. These can be a standalone qualification. If a student continues to study A subject to A Level it will account for 50% of the final mark.
In Year 13 students will continue with 3 or 4 A Levels. These include at least 20% synoptic assessment based on the work covered in Years 12 and 13.
