Academy Undefeated Winners at Hockey Tournament

Drapers' Academy took two teams to the Emerson Park Hockey Tournament this evening to represent the Academy in U12 and U14 ages groups. Despite the dreadful weather conditions where it rained heavily throughout the girls played extremely well in all three group matches and were undefeated. This was despite the teams being short a player because of illness and injuries.

The U12's drew all their games. The top scorer was Olivia Ayres with two goals, whilst player of the tournament was Teah Stapleton for her fantastic goalkeeping. They were runners up in the tournament so a great achievement for their first game as year 7 only.

The U14's won their first two matches and drew the final match 1-1. The top goal scorer was Holly Shorey with two goals. They were winners of the tournament, with player of the match awarded to Alex Wallington for her stout defending.

The pupils who played in the tournament were: Leah Rowlands, Alex Wallington, Nickey Selling, Nani Mntonintshi, Pearl Siasat, Holly Shorey, Teah Stapleton, Paige Frank, Olivia Ayres, Keira Gates, Fleur Weaver and Millie Munson.

Umpires were Sean Phillips and Charlie Moss.
