First Annual Sports Awards Evening

Our first annual sport evening was held on Thursday 7th July with special guest, Tessa Sanderson MBE, Olympic Gold medallist attending. The evening saw a number of sporting achievements recognised with the following awards presented (a full list of winners is also included below).
Half Colour Awards : these were awarded to pupils in year 8 or 9 for their continued commitment in a sport over the previous and current year
Full Colour Awards : these were awarded to pupils in Year 10 for their continued commitment in a sport over the previous and current year
Individual and Team Achievements : medals and certificates for pupils who have achieved success in team or individual events over the year
Sports Performers of the Year : Pupils are selected by staff or their peers for their performance and commitment in each sport. Awards are given in junior (KS3) and senior (KS4) categories.
Sports Captains : sports staff have selected a pupil in each year to represent each sport as captain. These pupils are deemed the most responsible and motivated pupil on the team, not just the most talented.
Leadership & Young Ambassador Award : pupils can volunteer of have the opportunity through leadership courses to lead primary pupils during the year. This award is given to the most promising leader.
Sports Personality Award : our most prestigious award. This is awarded to the pupils we feel have given the most effort, enthusiasm and motivation throughout the year and who we feel are a real ambassador in sport.
