Archie Signs For Charlton Athletic Academy

Year 10 pupil, Archie Edwards, of Drapers’ Academy has recently signed for Charlton Athletic’s Football Academy after a short but successful trial period playing left back position.

Academy Director, Paul Hart, said of Archie, “we have been very impressed with the calm and efficient manner that he has dealt with every challenge and we hope that he can continue to progress to reach the ultimate goal of scholarship and a professional career in football at Charlton Athletic FC.”

CAFC Academy has in the past produced talent such as Arsenal right back Carl Jenkinson, Jonjo Shelvey of Liverpool, also from Harold Hill, and current England and Tottenham star Scott Parker.

Principal at Drapers’ Academy, Mr Slater commented, “we are delighted that Archie has the opportunity to develop his football skills and is clearly a talented young man.”
