Sports Day 2011

Drapers' Academy held it's first sports day today at Hornchurch Stadium. The weather stayed fair for the all day event that saw a number of school records being broken.  Children and staff enjoyed a BBQ lunch as well as taking part in the tug of war contest, cheering on their friends, and watching the teachers take on the year 10 pupils in the 4 x 100m relay race!

Congratulations go to the winners and thanks to all competitors for taking part with such good spirits and enthusiasm. With particular mention of new school records being made by:

Frederick Bamgbelu - year 7 - 200m - 27.9s
                                          - High jump - 1.32m
Jack Ostemeyer - year 8 - triple jump - 10.04m 
                                    - 200m - 26.9s
Karen Ohene - year 7 - 300m - 56.31s
                                - hurdles - 13.3s
Year 7 boys relay team (Frederick Bamgbelu, Jose Moss, David Oni and Gracian Wojciechowski) - 58.8s
