Supporting Sport in Local School
9th February 2012

Mr Hardy, Drapers' Academy PE Teacher, with Broadford pupils wearing their smart new football kit.
Drapers Academy have recently purchased a new football kit for the Broadford Primary School team. This generous donation is one more way that the Academy has been supporting the local primary school’s drive to increase the amount of sports that they offer. As well as funding a new sports kit, they have provided tag rugby coaching for years 3 and 4, in addition to hosting an inter school netball competition, again with coaching. The Academy was delighted when Broadford won the ‘sporting achievement’ trophy for this netball tournament.
Mr Hardy, PE Teacher said, “At Drapers’ Academy we are committed to helping our feeder schools develop sports for their pupils. Broadford have worked hard to increase the number of teams they have and we are proud to support them.”
After half-term Broadford will have the opportunity to wear their new kit when Drapers’ Academy host a football competition for local primary schools. They are very excited at the prospect of taking part and wearing their smart new kit.
“This level of support is a great help to us as a school. The children benefit from improved opportunities, our staff benefit from the training they receive and our locality strengthens with these improved links. Drapers’ Academy really have been working very hard!”, commented Mr Drakes, Headteacher, Broadford Primary School.
