Drapers' Academy are very pleased to offer a wealth of enrichment activities available at lunchtime and after school. These have proved to be popular with all year groups and abilities and give pupils the opportunity to discover and develop new talents. Many of our clubs on offer can also improve resilience, self- esteem, and confidence.
Enrichment opportunities are available through all faculty areas in the school.
The PE Department do a fantastic job in holding a variety of clubs from football to bike polo. These change every term so there is something for everyone.
We have excellent practice room facilities, where pupils of all musical abilities can express themselves on guitar, drums, keyboard and vocals. Pupil are given the freedom to experiment independently.
We have a choir that represents the school in a variety of performance opportunities, ranging from Romford Market Place to the Queens Theatre. We have also recently introduced a Drama, Dance and Musical Theatre Club.
We are always looking for ways to ensure that our clubs interact with the local community. The Creative writing club is currently creating a story for pupils in our community for the upcoming Junior Music Festival at the Queens Theatre in June. We have strong links with residential Homes in the local area. This encourages an appreciation of different cultures, further enhancing pupils' journey to becoming responsible citizens who think of others before themselves.
We firmly believe that all these experiences and opportunities contribute to the development of a well-rounded individual, confident and full of character.
We welcome and consider ideas for future clubs from staff and pupils and look forward to your child’s participation.
