Hear Ye! Hear Ye! Hear Ye!

King Henry VIII took time out to visit Drapers' Academy on 1st March, bringing the history of the 16th century to life for our Year 7 pupils. One of the most influential leaders ever to sit on the English throne, King Henry, the 8th to hold the name, was responsible for the establishment of the Royal Navy, shipbuilding, the establishment of dockyards and laid the basis for our global influence as a nation. He also established the Church of England.

The King's visit was thoroughly enjoyed by the pupils who got to learn more about his life, his wives, Tudor times and his time on the throne. This was such a fantastic and enjoyable day for everyone at Drapers' Academy and the students asked some very insightful questions.
