School Vision for Pupil Premium and Disadvantaged Pupils
At Drapers' Academy, we are dedicated to delivering an inclusive, supportive, and high-quality education for all pupils, grounded in our core values of kindness, purpose, and respect. Our aim is to raise the achievement of disadvantaged pupil and close the attainment gap between them and their peers.
We ensure that every pupil eligible for Pupil Premium funding receives the resources, opportunities, and support they need to reach their full potential. Our commitment is to break down barriers to learning, enhance social mobility, and ensure that every Pupil Premium pupil feels valued, empowered, and motivated to succeed both academically and personally.
We aim to cultivate an environment where all learners, regardless of background or challenges, have access to the tools they need to thrive. By effectively utilising Pupil Premium funding, we provide tailored support and enrichment opportunities that build confidence, raise aspirations, and nurture a love for learning in the pupils who need it most.
In partnership with families, staff, and the wider community, we provide a holistic education that supports the individual needs of our Pupil Premium pupils, fosters resilience, and prepares them for future success.
Our Disadvantaged Pupil Strategy includes:
-
Ensuring high-quality teaching and learning for all pupils
-
Cultivating an ethos of achievement and aspiration
-
Assisting pupils in making informed decisions about further education and training, while helping them to build and nurture their aspirations
-
Fostering well-rounded, resilient individuals
-
Offering regular, high-quality CPD for staff on strategies to close the achievement gap
-
Ensuring all staff understand their pupils and build positive relationships
-
Tracking, monitoring, and regularly reviewing the impact of strategies to ensure optimal outcomes
The Academy employs three Pupil Premium Achievement Leaders and six Year Achievement Leaders, each supported by a non-teaching Pastoral Manager, to provide direct support to pupils and families. These roles work closely with partner agencies to identify and remove barriers to learning, enabling pupils to make significant progress.
Our goal is for every Pupil Premium pupil to leave Drapers’ Academy equipped with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to excel in their next steps—whether in further education, training, or the workforce—and to make a positive contribution to society.
