Drapers' Hall Visit

Over the past two Fridays, our Year 7 pupils have taken part in the annual trip to visit Drapers' Hall in London.

Across the two days, the entire year group were treated to an informative tour of the Hall. Pupils discovered the history of the iconic building, heard about the original Drapers' Hall, which dates back to the 1400s, and learned about the history of the livery company itself, as well as how we, as a school, continue to benefit from its philanthropy and support.

This trip is fully funded by the Drapers' Company and pupils set off excitedly by coach each morning. Whilst at the Hall as well as learning about the history of the Drapers' Company, pupils were also treated to sit down Silver Service dinner in the grand banqueting hall. Surrounded by the fantastic paintings of British Monarchs from history, pupils sat and ate a special two course meal, served to them by the staff of the Hall.

Pupils were interested to hear about the many events and films (including GoldenEye and The King's Speech) that have featured there, as well as hearing about recent visits by members of the Royal Family.

The day concluded with an educational activity linked to the monarchy, which the pupils enjoyed exploring the hall to complete!
