Year 8 Football Victory

Congratulations to the Year 8 Boys football team, who played in the District Championship Final yesterday, winning the game 2-1 and claiming the title!

After giving away a penalty in the first few minutes of the game, Rio stood firm in goal to keep the score 0-0. Redden Court quickly came forward again and scored, and the boys quickly had to reset themselves for what was a very tough start to the match.

The score stayed at 1-0 for some time, as the boys began to get a lot more possession of the ball, and started to control the game better. Lahkai then got a goal back to make it 1-1, and after some very good link up play, he again found himself in the right place and scored our second goal.

The boys went on to defend the lead very well, with Rio pulling out some more fantastic saves. The game ended 2-1 to Drapers' Academy.

All the members of the team fully deserved this victory and the title of Havering Champions, having only lost 1 group game this year. We look forward to watching them defend their title next year, in Year 9!
